The slimmest BlackBerries ever-Bold 9900 and 9930
BlackBerry introduces its slimmest QWERTY smartphones to date: Bold 9900 and 9930 (also known as the Bold Touch) which carry the ultimate technologies while still wearing the signature of BlackBerry.
The Bold 9900 and 9930 feature a 2.8-inch touch screen, 1.2 GHz processors, 8 Gb of onboard memory, 5-megapixel cameras that can record 720p HD video, dual-band Wi-Fi, a built-in compass and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. While both of them run BlackBerry OS 7, the 9900 has 4G through HSPA connectivity and the 9930 is the world version of RIM with dual-band CDMA and quad-band GSM.
Wood Laptop Stand
Soon, everything in our home will be made of wood. Including technology (yes, wireless connections too) I must admit, it’s a cute metaphor, to „get back to your roots”.
The idea is very simple but very clever and useful. Instead of placing your laptop on the table where there are “hazardous” liquids lying around, or holding it on your lap where there’s always the risk of dropping it when you move (or if you’re like me and use the laptop itself as a coaster), then you will definitely be interested in a wooden laptop stand.
World’s Smallest Camera
Technology rises once again to tell us size doesn’t matter. We’re still not convinced but we’ll give it a shot… or take a shot, with the world’s smallest camera (I can finally pass that exam now).
This mini camera acts like a high quality digital video recorder and picture camera. It stores everything on a microSD card of 16Gb, at most (free 2Gb) and records 40 minutes of high quality 640 x 480 30FPS video (fully charged).
Acer Introduces Iconia -Best Gadget of 2011
Acer builds the next block in computer-technology through Iconia, a laptop with dual screens and a full touch interface.
Iconia offers a completely new interaction with entertainment. You can view a video on the upper screen while browsing your multimedia library on the lower one. Use the Acer Ring on the lower display to activate applications. A keyboard instantly appears by placing both hands on the lower screen. In my opinion, the most awesome feature is the Gesture Editor (reminds me of Black and White – the game): completely customizable, it allows you to create gestures that will open shortcuts to applications on websites.
An Inhaler Equipped with GPS for Asthmatics
Some doctors figured out how to upgrade inhalers for asthmatics by adding GPS system. It’s a good day when we learn that technology we use all the time for personal activities can be applied in medicine.
Asthma is triggered by various events and the first thing people need to do is figure out the source. A company called Asthmapolis has found a way to do that, by attaching a GPS system to the inhaler. Therefore, when you activate the inhaler, the GPS traces your current location and establishes a statistical report, by comparing your position with the thousands of other people’s, and seeing any similarities.

Its gold case has a laser engraving that reads “Porsche Design P9522 Limited Edition” on the back and the edition number marker on the side of each phone, to prove its authenticity and the fact that it’s a limited edition collectible.
Children vs. Cellphones
Have you even seen those tiny persons who hold a communication device in their small hands? Yes, those are our children. Is it ok for children to be having cellphones?
I can honestly disapprove. And I won’t take that “well, I grew up without a cellphone and I turned out fine!” approach because it would seem a little hypocritical. But technology has a way of messing things up, even at an early age. I won’t disagree with a parent’s intentions – it’s all for the safety of our children (like having a cellphone in case of emergencies). But kids don’t really know how to appreciate this and they somehow turn it into a bad thing.
