I have a Sony Ericsson W850i phone since 2007 and it’s still working amazing, like in the first day. The Sony Ericsson W850i is a Walkman-branded phone in a slide design and it features Sony’s award-winning Walkman music player with great memory for around 1,000 songs, a built-in FM radio, 3G video calling and a 2 MP camera.
I’ve never bought anything for this phone, but now I’ve received as a gift this amazing wireless portable speaker that connects wirelessly to the phone and I can listen to my favorite songs in high quality stereo audio.
What’s in the box?
I’ve received the Sony Ericsson MBS-200 Portable Bluetooth Speaker in a small box with its charger, the user guides and, from the first look I knew that this is a great gadget.
How big it is?
The MBS-200 speaker has a diameter or 10.5 cm and it’s perfect for any small luggage.
What about compatibility?
I’ve found that the MBS-200 Speaker is compatible with all music mobile phones that support the A2DP Bluetooth profile and you have the full list here. That is great, because I can buy any phone with the required Bluetooth profiles and still use this speaker.
How to pair the speaker to your phone?
I’ve tested many products and I have to say that this speaker is really easy to pair with the phone. I’ve just turned on the Bluetooth function on my phone, turned on the speaker, then added the speaker to my phone devices as MBS-200 with the passcode 0000 and in a second I was listening the music from my media player at great sound quality.
I have to tell you that I haven’t read any instructions before starting pairing the speaker to my phone! Is that easy!
First time when you turn on the speaker, it enters pairing mode automatically.
How to re-pair the speaker?
Make the same steps as the first time, but, after turning on the speaker, press on the Bluetooth key (on the speaker), until the display shows a phone and its connectivity.
It seems that 10 (ten) different streaming devices can be paired simultaneously with this amazing speaker and if you introduce the 11th (eleventh) device it will replace the devices with the longest inactivity. It’s that smart!
What about the volume?
The volume can be adjusted at the music source (phone) or using the volume keys (+ or -) available on the speaker.
What I love about the Sony Ericsson MBS-200 Portable Bluetooth Speaker?
I’ve read that you can “set music free with a Bluetooth speaker that looks as good as it sounds”. I will say that it sounds as good as it looks!
The MBS-200 speaker has a great design with OLED display on top showing the track name as it is on your phone, offers impressive sound quality with about 6 hours play time (40 h standby), it’s easy to use, just connect the phone wirelessly with it and with a 3.5 mm input you can wire the speakers to your PC or MP3 player to play your songs.
