Pocket Guide to the Rosary: Reflections from the Bible and the Saints
Improve the Way You Pray the Holy Rosary
Drawing from the saints, the Bible, and Catholic tradition, Matt Fradd has produced a book that every Catholic should read.
Pocket Guide to the Rosary helps Catholics deepen their spiritual life and improve their ability to pray what St. Padre Pio called “the weapon of our times”—the Rosary.
This pocket guide covers all twenty of the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries, and includes…
Overviews of each mystery with biblical quotes and images to help you establish context and focus your mind.
Insights on each mystery from the writings of the saints and Church Fathers.
Personal applications for each mystery so you can further apply these mysteries to your own life and invite God to be a part of it.
This guide covers all twenty of the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries.
An excerpt from Pocket Guide to the Rosary by Matt Fradd…
It is my hope that this little book will help you learn how to pray the Rosary and love it for the first time or perhaps rediscover it if it’s something you used to pray but haven’t in a long while.
St. John Paul II offers this advice: “The Rosary, precisely because it starts with Mary’s own experience, is an exquisitely contemplative prayer. Without this contemplative dimension, it would lose its meaning.”
St. Paul VI wrote,
“Without this [contemplation] the Rosary is a body without a soul, and its recitation is in danger of becoming a mechanical repetition of formulas and of going counter to the warning of Christ: ‘And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words’ (Mt 6:7).
Because of this, it is vital that Christians familiarize themselves with Scripture in order to meditate on the mysteries of the life of Christ.
