Pleo – Cool Robotic Dinosaur

Looking for cool tech gadgets, I’ve found the “robotic dinosaur”, a very friendly toy that can be perfect for relaxing you and your family.

I know that many of you prefer live animals (I prefer them, too), but I think we can give a chance to robotic gadgets, and we can start with this sweet dinosaur, called Pleo. Pleo imitates Camarasaurus from the Jurassic period and is a robot with unique personality that can interact with you and explores and responds to the world around it.

Pleo can feel emotions (like joy, anger, sorrow), dreams when he falls asleep by its sophisticated sensory system that it’s made from sound sensors, infrared sensors, 14 motors with over 100 gears, orientation sensor and 8 touch sensors- all perfect for Pleo to see, sense touch, hear and also to detect objects.

Convince yourself by watching the next video:

Pleo Robotic Dinosaur Features:
• Connect with other owners, discover training tips and download new enhancements on Pleoworld.com.
• Rechargable battery and adaptor included
• IR Communication: Infrared Transmitters and Receivers enable Pleos to interact and identify each other.
• Infrared Interrupter: Allows Pleo to detect when something is being placed inside his mouth.
• Chin Touch Sensor: Triggered by touch and allows Pleo to „feel”
• Front Speaker: Enables Pleo to communicate via honks, hoots and other natural sounds.
• NiMH Rechargeable Battery: Battery level indicator allows Pleo to know when his battery is low and requires charging – at this you will see Pleo is very tired.
• Tilt and Shake Sensors: Allows Pleo to know his orientation. He’ll know if he has fallen over or is being held upside down.
• Ground Sensors: Allow Pleo to know if he is on firm ground or if he has been picked up.
• Leg Touch Sensors: Triggered by touch and allow Pleo to „feel”.
• Motor Force Feedback Sensors: Motors are sensitive to forceful grabs to Pleo’s legs, neck, tail and torso and shut down during such trauma to avoid internal damage. Pleo will react to being hurt and may exhibit a limp.
• Rear Touch Sensors: Triggered by touch and allow Pleo to „feel”
• Shoulder Touch Sensors: Triggered by touch and allow Pleo to „feel”
• Binaural Microphones: Left and right microphones enable stereophonic hearing. Through this feature Pleo can detect sound direction and loudness from both ears.
• Colour Camera with white light sensor: This is the core feature of Pleo’s navigational or vision system. From this camera Pleo may detect bright light from dark, see colours, detect motion, detect objects in front of him and track their movement.
• Head Touch Sensor: Triggered by touch and allow Pleo to „feel”.
• Rear Speaker: Enables Pleo to communicate via honks, hoots and other natural sounds.

You can purchase this cool gadget for £199.99, from the Gadgetshop.
